It’s been a long cold winter for many of us. As we hibernate, we have a tendency to collect lots of things. Some of them to keep us warm, some to protect us from the elements and some just to keep us company. While they are nice to have in the winter, they can also keep us from experiencing the joys of spring. When you are in your down coat, you don’t notice how warm the breeze is. When you’re under an umbrella, you can’t always tell if it is actually raining and when you are on the couch with the shades drawn, watching TV, you don’t see or hear the activity outside- the people getting out and getting reconnected to the earth. Take some time this week to see where you have gotten into your comfort zone and forgotten the world outside. I’ve let magazines build up, collected movies to watch even put more food in the freezer. Now is the time to wrap up the winter sustenance phase and move forward into the cleaning out and reveling in life phase. The temperature is rising, the blood oranges are out and the pigeons are frisky. I’m going to get out there and enjoy it all. I hope you do too.
